An independent product studio building software for our own portfolio — and, selectively, for clients.
RIEN Network designs, builds, and operates the tools and applications that make up the RIEN portfolio. Everything we release is something we run ourselves: we handle the architecture, the code, the deployment, and the support that follows. A smaller number of projects each year are built for outside clients.
We are deliberately small. The same people who scope a project also write the code, ship the release, and answer the support email. That keeps the distance between an idea and a working product short, and it means nothing gets handed off to someone who wasn't in the room when the decisions were made.
What we build...
Software with a clear job to do — mobile applications, web tools, calculators, and utilities that solve one problem completely rather than many problems partially.
Our work sits across the full stack: native and cross-platform mobile apps, modern web frontends, backend services and data models, payments and subscriptions, and the release and store-compliance work that turns a finished build into a shipped product.
Client work...
We take on a limited number of external projects. We are a good fit when a client needs a small, senior team that can own a product end to end — from initial scope through to a shipped, maintained release — rather than an agency that assembles a team around a brief.
Typical engagements include mobile and web application development, technical builds for existing products, and consulting on architecture and release strategy.
We are less suited to large multi-vendor programmes or work that requires scaling a team quickly. When a project isn't right for us, we say so early.
How we work...
We own the whole stack. Design, build, deploy, and maintain. There are no handovers between teams, because there is one team.
We ship, then refine. A working release in production teaches us more than another round of specification. We get to a usable version early and improve it against real use.
We build for the long term. Portfolio products are maintained indefinitely, not launched and abandoned. Client work is built to the same standard, so it remains maintainable after we hand it over.
